April 12, 2018 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted ceremony, dedicated to Yom Ha Shoah – Day of the Catastrophe and Heroism of European Jewry. The event was organized by – Israeli Cultural Center in Dnipro run by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine, Jewish Agency branch “Sohnut-Ukraine”, “Tkuma” Institute, the Holocaust Museum.

The ceremony started with Kaddish memorial prayer, red by the secretary of the rabbinical court Yitzhak Karshenbaum. After the prayer, memorial candle was lit.

The symbolic candles in memory of six million Jews killed during the Holocaust were also lit by Natali Nabitovski, head of “Sohnut-Ukraine” agency branch office in Ukraine, Oleg Rostovtsev, Advisor to the Mayor of Dnipro, Dr. Iegor Vradii, Head of the Holocaust Museum Research Department, Maya Mikhaylova, director of “Hillel” Student organization, Maryna Kovaliova, head of “Nativ Tzofim” club.

During the ceremony, representatives of the ICC read a poem, dedicated to the Shoah victims and the passage of the last letter of the head of the Warsaw ghetto uprising Mordechai Anielewicz.

The ceremony ended up with the national anthems of Ukraine and the State of Israel.
