In August 08, 2017 “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” was visited by Martin Hagstrom, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Ukraine. Guided tour for guest was conducted by Dr. Igor Shchupak.
In addition to the permanent museum exhibition, Ambassador visited the mobile exhibition devoted to Raoul Wallenberg (donated to the Holocaust Museum by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine several years ago). Mr. Hagstrom was particularly interested in Ukrainian version of the book “Tell Ye Your Children...” by P. Levine and S. Bruchfeld. The edition was first published in Sweden in 1998 on the initiative of its government, and then it was republished in 50 countries of the world. “Tkuma” Institute translated it into Ukrainian, complemented with new illustrations (project coordinator - Iryna Radchenko); Dr. Shchupak wrote special chapter devoted to Ukraine (traditionally, in each country where the book was published, the relevant chapter was included). In September, this book among our other editions will be presented at the Lviv International Book Forum.
