On April 24, 2017  Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance and Heroism Day - was marked in Dnopro. 

The ceremony started with a memorial prayer by Dnipro Jewish religious community representative Oleksander Fridkis. Six candles in memory of the six million Jews killed were lit by the Second Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel, director of the Israeli Cultural Center in Dnipro Viacheslav Smotkin, Chief Rabbi of Dnipro city and region Shmuel Kaminezki, The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee Representative Office in Eastern Ukraine Yoni Leifer, director of "Tkuma" Institute and the Holocaust Museum Dr. Igor Shchuak, Chairman of the Council of Jewish veterans and participants of military operations of Dnipro Solomon Fluks.
