On October 21 – 23, 2016 Zaporizhzhya hosted book fair, literary festival, the festival of children’s art and a number of other events, combined within multiformat “Zaporizhzhya Book Toloka”. “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies became the participant and presented its editions on World War II and the Holocaust history.

The key message of this year’s festival program is “Ways to Mutual Understanding”. Today it is crucially important for Ukraine, Europe, human civilization as a whole and each individual to find these ways to mutual understanding. Where to find these ways, where do they lead and how to communicate with each other? Within three days participants were looking for the answers to these and other questions by means of culture, art, dialogue, co-creation.

The event was opened by lecture of Dr. Igor Shchupak, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” Director, dedicated to the historical memory and historical myths in multi-cultural Ukraine. More than 50 visitors of book fair came to the lecture.
