On September 29, 2016 Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” hosted Commemoration Ceremony dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Babyn Yar tragedy. The event was conducted by Dilfuza Hlushchenko, “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum Research Associate, gathered pupils from Zaporizhzhya, leaders and activists of the Jewish community of Dnipro, and general public.

The ceremony started with memorial prayer read by Oleksandr Fridkis, Executive Officer of Dnipro Jewish religious community. Also Solomon Flaks, Chairman of the Council of Jewish Veterans, told about the fate of his family during the Second World War and Ester Takhterina, public activist and journalist of “Shabbat Shalom”.

Each of the speakers lit a candle in memory of the 6 million victims of the Holocaust. The ceremony ended with a minute of silence.
