During July 29 – August 6, 2017 Wisła (Poland) hosted nternational Cultural and Educational Camp for Jewish Youth from Ukraine, organized by “Drzewo Oliwne” Foundation, “Tkuma” Institute and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine”.

This year, the program included lectures on the history of the Jewish people and the Holocaust, the development of Judaism in Europe, integration trainings, various master-classes and guided tours to significant historical places. In particular, Iryna Piskariova, “Tkuma” Institute Educational Program Coordinator, conducted several sessions dedicated to the history of the Jewish people, Righteous Among the Nations, memory of the Holocaust, and the lecture-conversation “The Faces That Unite Us: The Moral Authorities of the Nation”. Daria Klymenko and Svitlana Predko, participants of this year’s project, organized integration lesson on the topic “We Are Different – We Are Equal”.

Gosia Duda and Patricia Sevniak organized the master class in Polish cuisine, which brought together the participants of the Polish and Ukrainian groups. Rita and Timothy Rabinek organized theatrical piece “Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Shtetl”, in which each participant got his role and was able to show him/herself in an unusual way.

Sightseeing program this year was extremely diverse. The youth was able to visit different parts of the cities of Wisla, Istebné and Koniaczów.
