On February 10, Dr. Viacheslav Likhachov’s lecture on “Yad Vashem and others: a museum reflection of the Holocaust memory” was held within the framework of Dniprovsky Historical Club in “Tkuma” Institute. During the lecture, participants talked about the Yad Vashem Memorial of Catastrophe and Heroism’s history and concept creation, the construction feature of museum exhibition and its evolution in recent years.

How does the Holocaust memory fit in general memory policy of the State of Israel? Which aspects of the Holocaust history dominate in the museum showing of the topic? Is there topic of the “final solution of the Jewish question” in Eastern Europe (in particular, in Ukraine) in Yad Vashem museum space? Which national memorial does Ukraine need? These and other questions caused a lively discussion during interactive session. We would like to thank to Mr. Viacheslav for the informative story.
