On March 3, historical webinar “Ukrainian nobility and Cossacks; Poles, Jews and Tatars in New History Textbooks: Knowledge of History and Deprivation of Stereotypes” was organized by “Tkuma” Institute, Museum ‘Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” and “Orion” Publishing House.

Speakers were members of the author's team of the new textbook for 8th grade “History of Ukraine” published by “Orion”: Natalia Starchenko, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher of Department of Theory and Methods of Archeography and Source Studies, M.S. Hrushevsky Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv); Borys Cherkas, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Department of History of Ukraine of the Middle Ages and Early Modern Times of the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv); Dr. Igor Shchupak.

During the webinar the following questions were discussed: was the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth a Polish state? Were all Cossacks Ukrainians, or were all Ukrainians Cossacks? Could a Cossack be a nobleman? Jews and Ukrainians: good neighbors or implacable enemies? What is the role of Tatars in the history of Ukraine?
