On October 28, opening of the museum-room “Myrhorod: Museum of the Holocaust” was held in secondary school № 5 in Myrhorod (Poltava region). This event was timed to the anniversary of the Myrhorod Jews execution by the Nazis and the Nazis' expulsion from Ukraine. Valentyn Rybalka, “Tkuma” Institute researcher was invited to the opening of new museum institution.

Museum was created at Myrhorod Jewish Community initiative and with the support of an international non-profit organization RememberUs, which helps communities in Ukraine, the United States and Israel to commemorate dead Jews, open museums, teach children to the Holocaust stories. Representatives of international civic and volunteer organizations, school leaders, museums, design artists also joined to the museum creation. “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies and Museum “Jewish Memory and Holocaust in Ukraine” provided a significant scientific and methodological assistance to the museum creation.

By the end of the event, Valentyn Rybalka met with Mykhailo Ruthaizer, head of Myrhorod Jewish community and initiator of the Myrhorod Holocaust museum creation. Prospects for further cooperation was discussed during the meeting.
