On October 18, 2018, commemorative ceremony, devoted to the 77th anniversary of the mass shootings of Jews in our city during the Holocaust, took place on part named after Yu. Haharin in Dnipro.

The mourning rally was attended by members of the Jewish community of the city, veterans of the war, students of the Jewish school of the Dnipro and MahonBeis Chaya Mushka, students of “Beit KhanaInternational Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute and residents of the city.

The rally was opened by the national anthems of Ukraine and Israel, and then the first word was given to Second Secretary of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine, director of the Israeli Cultural Center in the Dnipro Vyacheslav Smotkin, who noted the importance of preserving the memory of the Holocaust as a global tragedy for every Jewish community, for the entire Jewish people and for all peoples of the world.

Chief Rabbi of Dnipro city and region Shmuel Kaminezki told about the creation of new memorial with the names of people shot at this place. The head of the Council of Veterans of the Jews, Solomon Flax, called upon the leaders of Jewish organizations, especially those involved in the preservation of historical memory and education, to encourage the Jews of the Dnipro and the guests of the Jewish community to visit this place and to remember the tragedy of October 1941.
