May 27, 2018, Drohobych welcomed All-Ukrainian Scholarly and Practical Conference “Ukrainian-Polish-Jewish Relations in Eastern Galicia (the first half of the XX c.): historical experience, lessons for the present”. The event was organized by Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, Uzhhorod National University and “Tkuma” Ukrainian Institute for Holocaust Studies.

The welcoming speeches were made by Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Prof. Mykola Pantiuk and Dr. Igor Shchupak, who presented “Tkuma” Institute and the Holocaust Museum activities. He also presented the report “Rescue of Ukrainians and Poles Jews of Western Ukraine during the Holocaust”, noting that research of the phenomenon of rescuing Jews of Ukraine during the Holocaust is an important scholarly and moral task, since it provides positive examples of human behavior in the inhuman conditions of war.
