On
December, 15th-17th Tkuma jointly with Jewish Mazal Tov Community
Center (Zaporozhe) has conducted the seminar “The Role of Historical Memory in Strengthening
of the Jewish family”. The topic of the seminar wasn’t selected by chance but on
demand of center programs’ participants and clients.
The classes have been conducted by Dr. Aharon Weiss
(Tkuma Center Academic Adviser, JDC Community Programs Coordinator
(Jerusalem)), Dr. Igor Shchupak (Tkuma Center Director), Inessa Nosenko (Mazal
Tov Center Director), Elisaveta Luniova (specialist of Mazal Tov Center Jewish Education),
other educators and psychologists.
The seminar touched upon various aspects of family
strengthening: Jewish family values, connection of family historical memory with
the present and future of the family, differences in family traditions of
different nations, roles in modern Jewish family, necessity and possibility of
dialog.
