TKUMA SEMINAR ON ANTI-SEMITISM PROBLEMS

Tkuma Center partners with numerous organizations, including close and lasting cooperation with Zaporizhzhia Jewish Community Center “Mazal Tov”, headed by talented leader, teacher and historian Inessa Nosenko. Mazal Tov organizes wide range of socially relevant projects spiritually close to the activities conducted by Tkuma Center, i.e.  “The school of International Communication”, “Jewish Town” and other programs aimed to revive the historical memory, strengthen the Jewish national identity and promote fostering the atmosphere of tolerance and xenophobia non-acceptance in modern society.

Mazal Tov Community Center supports the young Jewish leaders’ initiative. Thus, in the frames of the youth project, coordinated by Oleksandr Staforkin, on December 4th, 2007 the seminar on anti-Semitism problems has been conducted.

Tkuma Center director - Dr. Igor Shchupak has been invited to coordinate the seminar.

Igor Shchupak together with seminar’s participants discussed the mechanisms of public opinion manipulation during WWII as well as in modern Ukraine. The seminar coordinator has risked to read and analyze … fragments from the Adolf Hitler’s book “Mein Kampf” – which promoted for better and more profound comprehension of the meaning of the expression “ideological poison” which should be seriously counteracted.

The seminar has been finished, but it provoked numerous new questions and ideas, encouraging new research, meetings, discussions and work with own identity.
